About

The Lindsay Foods story is garnished in a rich, savory tradition of families serving Wisconsin and Illinois kitchens the finest cuts of meat.

1937 - Wilford C. Lindsay opened the Lindsay Meat Market, a retail establishment with one of the most extensive meat counters in the Southeastern Wisconsin area.

1980 - Gary C. Lindsay refocused and organized Lindsay Foods, Inc. as a wholesale supplier to the finest dining establishments. The customer portfolio evolved to include many of the region’s top caterers, hotels, institutions, and wholesale distributors.

Mid-1980’s - The Stachnik brothers were hired as part-time general labor. Little did anyone know both would go on to fill prominent roles in the company. David Stachnik became a journeyman butcher and earned his business degree from UWM. Today he manages the entire production floor, purchasing, and much more. Similarly, Kurt Stachnik earned his accounting degree at UWM and moved accounting to computers from paper legers. Today he runs the administrative and financial operations.

2020 – Tony Gahn brought his leadership and three generations of his family’s traditions. In 1910 his grandparents AJ and Rose Gahn founded Gahn Meat Company and earned a reputation for delivering the valuable balance between product and price. “Quality Since 1910” still resonates with the Lindsay Foods team. In addition to running the company for decades, he had leadership roles in local (Milwaukee Association of Meat Purveyors) and national associations (North American Meat Processors(NAMP). North American Meat Association(NAMA), and North American Meat Institute(NAMI).

2022 – Scott & Lisa Stowell joined to modernize management while acting as stewards for Lindsay Foods’ heritage. “We’re going to continue delivering the best products at the best price to the best customers. We’ll also innovate, reinvest, and find new ways to deliver exceptional customer service.”
